Cyberpunk capitalism

The word Democracy of Greek origin means rulership of the people and that comes in several forms. In most western countries we have parlamentarien democracies. The people vote a group from withen themselves to create a parlament to rule them. A parlament is a place to talk and make decisions.

Capitalism is widely known as an economic system based on markets ruled by capital as the main force. Usualy capitalism is in opposite to democracy not further specified even so we have different theories within economic science.

Also, the fact that the original meaning of the word capital is far more than money is usually ignored until you stare at that door where it sais Human Resources und you might wonder why it says Resource instead of Capital. If you have to wait to much time there and keep thinking about avoiding being exploitet like a natural resource in e.g. an african cobalt mine for your managers tesla battery you might find yourself in trouble later on the other side of that door of perception explaining why you are actually a human capital and a major asset for the company that is helping you to pay those bills you actually don't need, due to your intellectual-, work ethical- and social skill capital...

Today we have an accumulating capitalism, while in those dark future Cyberunk societies that form turned into an anarchistic capitalism.

Today money comes to money. It is a lot easier to make money if you already have money even so you are dump as shit while being smart, talented and having a great set of social skills is no gurantee what so ever to make money. It helps so, I guess.

An anarchistic capitalism does know no rules and everything is possible. You don't like a contract, well get a gun or hire a gun and just kill the other party. You like that car, steel it. Your yacht was stolen? Steel it back. You have a new substance? Test it in the market. They either like it or hopefully die bevore they can warn too many others and you will make profit.

Cyberpunk society, Cyberpunk business and today's war crimes

Which region is struggling most in this World?

Africa.

The latest news told me at my little firsts world desk trying to make some buggs with strange, electronic music that in the north of Ethiopia Eritrean forces caused war crimes.

Just Eritrea sais wasn't me.

So, that area is in the east of Africa close to Yemen, which is in flames too, and Saudi Arabia with its oil is also just next door. Inbetween is the silk road, the actual silk road wich is a ship route connecting Asia and Europe through the Suez Channel a bit further north.

East Africa: Same place where Somaly Pirates make ships speed up. Same area where Black Hawk went down.

Well, kind of same place. The area currently in the news is like 400 kilometeres of heavy terrain. It is like the African version of Vietnam to modern armies. Must be beatiful mountains in times of peace.

There is no way that that strip and its connection to the open sea can or is surveilled by the local forces. Thats third world forces using hand guns like cheap AK copies and Pick-Up Trucks with some ancient anti aircraft gun to kill each other. Some old T74 tanks might be around and possibly NATO screpped of some expensive in running cost figthter jets, too.

For some reason I consider the possibility that those forces commiting crimes there are guns for hire. I mean, that sounds just like a pretty nasty shadow run for a ConMan in the Dark Future Cyperbunk Pen and Pepar game I used to play when I was 15... A ConMan that tries to enforce his MegaCorporations interests for Crypto currency looking for some mercenary.

Ah... I did not check wich mining companies are currently exploiting that region or which Ships from which Fright company are under most attac by Pirates. Those that could use even smaller boats than the Somalies in that part of the Eastern Cape of Africa the silk road passes by.

But I am well aware of drug money needing to be invested, of 16ts of Kokain seized in Hamburg that are not snorred into some managers small greedy brain he bought of some underworld low life. That would be ConMan and Shadow runner of the Real World. So the drug money buys the unforms, guns, ammo and transportation to get, if coming out alive, crime war money.

AI

 AI

Artificial Intelligence.

Finding a definition of "intelligence" is a Pandoras box of one of a kind. Simplified I guess intelligence is understandig which is more than repeating or copy paste.

So why the fuck does everyone put a rule based system under that AI term?

Who remembers that Forest Gump Scene when the Stuff Seargent declares him as a recruite intelligent as an homage to the full metal jacket Stuff Sargeant? The one that gets shot later for a good reason. The despote that disrespects a humans god given free will. Free will - That term so often abused to justify exactly the inhumane actions of that rule based Stuff Seargent that will give his recruite all they need to die as quickly as possible on the Vietnam battlefields but no creativity, respect towards being alive, survival instinct or any other skill that teaches understanding of the surroundings and applying aquired basic principles in a creative, adjusting way instead of fixed, predictable rules designed at a desk somewhere off the jungle?

The same set of mind that gives that outdated drill sargeant justification of wearing a uniform from the homeland of the free he is so much not worthy of will come along and sell you a rule based system as an artifical intelligent software....

We are in so many respects already living in a dysantrop Cyberpunk society.

Megalopolis - A Cyberpunk City Dream

A megalopolis is a super city and even so some areas are allready called as such there is none realy quite yet existing. In the Cyberpunk Pen and Paper Game Shadowrun that made me fall in love with the dark future Sci-Fi genre most action is happening in the Sprawls of the time after 2050 when Shadowrun is placed.

Today dense major towns are sometimes reffered to as a Megalopolis, but from this Cyberpunk Blog perspective they aint no more than Super Large Cities.

A Cyberpunk Megalopolis is way more than a multi million town. It is more dense, more packed. more independent from its sourroundings, more busy with itself by being its own centre.

The only town I am aware of today in 2021 that is at least close to being such a Megalopolis, but I personally never have been to, would be Hong Kong not Chongqing. Chongqing has about 30 Million inhabitants but spread out over 82.300 square kilometers while Hong Kong is populated by about 7.5 Million humans on about 1100 square kilometers equaling 6890 humans per square kilometers instead of about 350 in the actual larger Chongquin region.

Also, Hong Kong is squeezed into a tiny bay with hardly any agrocultural land sourrounding it and growth needs to go vertical. The more humans living on a square kilometer in a large area the more difficult transportation becomes. A standard street and Subway system developed in the early 20iest century wont cut it anymore.

The problem of tomorrows Megalopolis wont be data transportation. What ever comes after 5G and fibre optics will do. But how to get groceries into town, city quarter, block and building and where from? How to keep the air clean and create recreational spaces like parks, gardens and play grounds in a high density building zone?

The Cyberpunk genre novels and games are all about a "dysantrop" society, an anti-social society in which runners are hired by Con-Men to enforce contracts with violence, a world in which Mega Coorporations are acting like Nations and actually exchanged them. The oximoron is that Megalopolis wont be created without mankind advancing in collective social skills.

An ellbow society that already struggles to create a save and quite living without constant traffic and therefore transportation jams of goods and humans in towns just in the two digest millions won't manage the next step from Super City to Megalopolis.

Munich being rich with about 1 Million habitants can't get its constant traffic jam issue sorted and poor Mexico City with about 9 Million is using so much ground water that it starts sinking and dried out its close sourrounding farmland into wasteland.

Neither a major town knwon for being a most important tech hub of a leading economic power nor a troubled town in a nation struggling with todays most dangerous organaized crime organizations are in any respect ready for further growth to the next level of town and society of tomorrow.

This is a human problem. An attidude problem. Not a technical one.

We need sociologic change for the next step in human evolution. We need to be able to better and further connect and interact with each other, our skills, knowledge and abilities or at best we just got stuck ....
