How do you fix that battleground?
The new trenches are quickly digged mudholes that are so narrow that artillery and even cluster bombs will not sufficiently kill all human targets using them as cover. It does need tanks and well trained infantery with quite some time of bombardement upfront to take that soil still riscing high loses. It is easier to go all around and cut the supply line to force them to retreat.
This is a solution to take ground.
Instead of waisting time to create AI driven autonomous drones, this software can be used to create a sworm of grenade dropping drones with cameras connected to a simple object recognition software superveilled by a drone operator team. Basically, the drone pilote manouvers the swarm over a battelground based on higher altitude drone pictures. Every time a cam of a drone sends to the server running an object recogniation software a human positive another drone operator receives the video picture and confirms or declines, if it is an already killed soldier, the drop. Those empty retreate to reload, and possibly recharge and then go back in line.
This way a trench system can face several hundred drones dropping precise kill loads onto enemy soldiers hiding, while being operated by only a platoon of drone operating soldiers.
