A lot of new technology will be created within rising poor societies that have demand for other systems than us. If you live in a slum society in which production is decentralised and relies on trusted relationships coordinated based on short distances, you might have need for social media technology way different than Facebook or YouTube, if what is good is turned better, which is the social interaction of the humans in the borrow by the availablitiy of until now unaffordable technology: Computers that can be programmed.
