Sinking East Coast

Baltimore might become the Hamburg of some of my most favorite Shadowrun novels.
Some of the Shadowrun Dark Sci-Fi thrillers all about a near future dystopian world are placed in areas that were abandoned by both nations and corporations turning practicaly a modern version of the New Orleans swamps in Pirate peak times, just for all those that escaped nine to five soft slavery.
The new water levels are reaching from flooded cellar only levels, that keep rain water for days on street level, over constantly just those bad centimetres under water levels that flood all shops and rooms on street level to several meters deep Ponts that leave only former rooftops off the new water levels creating an area for only those that don't mind wet feet and a lot of moisture.
Sea-level rise comes with Groundwater level rise comes with higher and faster water circulation from rain to vaporisation and higher humidity with all side effects of creating a virus mutation friendly climate to aggregated spread of wet climate favoring plants pushing out many industrial plants in need of rather dry soil and increased coastline salt levels there.
Most likely all estimations on flooding have been short to reality being based on linear development and ignoring sinking land at all.
