PS: They could use artillery...which is a long barrel, a big bag of propellant and a projectile. The more the projectile rotates by either barrel or its own shape the more precise it will fly in a bow and how far depends on the ancle of the barrel and the amount of force the propellant can create. There is also no need to charge a fuckilling of Dollars for a canon as such.
