In some streets the traffic gets already close to traffic jams and pollution will start to become a problem soon threatening the all so important Street Live. The town already has on the paythways steps infront of the houses welcoming everyone to rest. They will be empty when the traffic jams hit.
Beside running cars on Ethanol instead of Petrol this means there is demand for parkinglots and public transport past the taxis. It also means that the micro climate of this new center needs to be improved by creating mixed drive and walk streets dedicated and labeled as such, fountains and trees in pots next to benches and shadow spending open roofs will help to deal with both the exhausts of the cars and make the area even more attractive to visit.
Life does not have to be all bussy as in The City of London rushing from meeting to meeting, but our Towns in Europe can be again an example for other places that can do things better than us by avoding our mistakes of enfavoring an toxic life style.
