An injoury is a set back from set goals. How you deal with them shows your real character. Growing up in Germany among Germans from whom I am easily visibly to be distinguished I learned that noone helps another without direct personal intentions of any kind of profit.
This guy is seriously believing that when he lets others pass by and he himself than slips on some spot in a ski resort, that he was not egoistic enough nistead of having just bad luck. He considers using painkillers to stay in practice an appropriate choice instead of healing and learning a lession for next time accepting failure and defeat. Germans are hardwired on jelousy and greed. He traines, IMHO, to have that unique selling point in his group turning him better at atleast one point. He is the sporty spice of the Spice Girls instead of a K-Pop all look and move the same Original Gang. He only will hang out with those looking for a different thing and will turn mean and nasty if he can get away with it, if he was in a group of equal interests, as they all do. Therefore, they have to cheat and play dirty to beat social competitors outperforming them quickly.
Failing then triggers selfhate up to selfdestruction. He is just swearing at himself yet considering legal drug use, Hitler went straight for suicide and total destruction all high on hard drugs also from a doctor. Different positions, same core attitude towards life. Instead of admitting a mistake or in this case just bad luck he would take even strong painkillers no matter long term side effects, if he just had a pro card. Like a German never will see me as a human, yet never admit that.
Steroid abuse in sports is big in Germany and mean little tricks are even bigger. If there is noone better and different around they can hit, they hit each other. Playing American Football in the USA is in opposite only for those that can balance aggression, force and fair play, taken care of the opponents safety too.
As soon as they turn the weakest, they will look for the weaker among them. Some problems can fix themselfes, if they are just condemend.
