Well, you don't. You make a decision to be greedy or not. Life will keep asking you and you have to be Sysiphos.
Sysiphos got into trouble with the Gods of Greek. He just refused to show them tribute. The Gods therefore through him into a twilight zone in which he had one task. Everytime he finished that one task the Gods destroyed the finished result of completing the task. He kept going. He kept going until he forgot time, how many days and years he was cought in the twilight zone doomed to ever have his task destroyed to find it again in the begining stage, yet kept going. The Gods added a voice to the twilight zone after some time telling him to stop and give up and into agony, to sit and rest for ever as he will never ever manage to keep his task finished. Yet he kept going and going....so that the Gods started thinking beeing more and more impressed by his consistancy and refusal to surrender against his will of being free and back into Greece with his people and loved once. So finally, they left him his muscels and patience and brought him back to humans as the first human that defeated the Gods....
