This weapon on this level of precision is only usable just before a heavy armoured fast assault and otherwise I'd order to use them as horizontaly as possible in on sight distances against fortified or concentrated positions, if a covered approach and fast unload with save retreat is feasible.
But, if the Russians upgrade that WW2 system like turning old artillery shells into gliding bombs by having them rotate fast, adding arrow like finns or even adding vector thrust capabilities despite using shrapnel loads, you are fucked.
