Instead of using the classic MBT, Light Tank and Grenadier set up on a just larger scale, it makes sense to use that only for Special Forces level soldiers turning a main Tank force into a Heavy Armored Army in need of main fuel and ammo supply lines surrounded by smaller in all aspects forces.
Based on Sun Tzu that at one point the main force has to be attacked most attacks will go against the smaller forces which are in this set up balancing size by expertise.
The main force would see all portable heavy artillery to prepare the battle ground, main battle tanks to advance and mid and light tanks to follow ensuring no hide out was overlooked and securing the following heavy artillery as well as constant supply lines with their trucks and trains.
