Since the end of WW2 a different economic school had managed to rule solely. The worst Imperialists were defeated or about to leave for moderates, but the economy was taken by Greed is Good being interested in short term high profits.
In the beginning towns got bigger in size by the effect of exponential birthrates in which Europeans had for several dozents generations five to seven children and technical progress was able to deal with that increase.
That stopped by two World Wars completely.
Instead of adjusting and reasoning how Europe had murdered hundreds in the millions of its own and in peace birthrates had dropped to about one and a half children statisticaly, we just kept going.
The economic and political leaders collectively helped to increase growth in the centers like London, Paris, Dublin or Munich by no demand, but request driving away the survivors of the World Wars from the outskirts into the centers.
We have empty houses in Irelands countryside, empty villages in Italy and soon also in the rims of Europe's very economic center beyond empty retail space.
We accepted leaders that live from and not for the people.
