Building a luxurious condo like they did takes a few days and staying at one spot for two weeks is no Reconnaissance mission objective at all.
They cannot build a hidden camp like that when sneaking towards enemy positions to spy on them and also not as a starting point for sabotage missions.
But there is one task that is scary.
The weapon SS had incredible problems with Partisan Resistance and drove by their brutal war crimes many into the woods to fight back instead of away to the Allies positions.
The only way a wooden bunker like that makes sense is if they are awaiting someone and it won't be Tanks.

PS: The horrible reality, if that was their real mission, is that we can't build Partisans. The Republican rights to bear arms that rolled out through all of Europe after the French Revolution were taken away everywhere in times of the Holocaust and never given back.
They carry the arms, only them and they won't hand them over to anyone, because they are the democratic soldiers of our free Republics.
