The problem is

that they miss out on the next step after acknowledging to be cheaters, liers, thieves and robbers by not saying: 

From now on forward I will walk by an opportunity to be bad! 

So; Repeat.... until you can say:

Today,  I saw an opportunity to do bad and dropped that by not doing it! 

Hard, German?  Ok. Envision me right next to you with an Axe!
