increase vividness by having moving cameras in action scenes. Either long slow movements around the action or hectic short staccato moves with many cuts from even different cam positions. 

Blender can emulate that and even create a 3D picture stitched together from those if set up on a FreeBSD or Linux Cluster on IBM compatible PCs.
