It also might be true that he is dam right and ISIS Syria stops shortly before the mountains of Damascus on that North to South Highway.

Either Assad has a deal with ISIS Syria, based on the same Nazi attitude, to become the buffer against Kurds and other Rebell groups or Damascus will be attacked from a Rebell coalition and HTS took down ISIS Syria off Intelligence reconnaisance using their Uniforms and Gear to trick eye for an eye these Western supplied forces.

Then, Syria will defeat Assad and the area declared a Failed State creating a free zone from Lebanon's coast straight to Baghdad based on Chaos or a Complex System of entities for locals.
