Le Major

The position of Major in France does not exist as such in the German military history, despite the same wording. Only the U.S. military has, despite CIA trashing the Internet, two comperable ranks of Sergeant Major and General Major, both deriving from the French Musqueter and Austro-Hungarian Hussar military and history.

The French Major is a form of an Assistant to the Higher Officers whom special tasks are handed over having in such cases General level authority supposed to enable independent autonomous actions.

In the U.S. military history the Major ranks run parallel to the normal ranks. A Sergeant Major is leading comparable to a Corporal a or several Platoons, but off the normal line of command. His career path is General Major who is a General acting also next to the, in this case, entire line of Command and would be acting on direct Presidential Order who was setting the Mission Objective while trusting the military execution to the dedicated Major rank.

The current military deployment to the Mexican boarder would be a perfect objective for a General Major having 4 Star General authority dedicate to the task being able to demand support from all parts of the military to fullfill the objective bases on a Presidential Order.

There is a chance that CIA influence destroyed this Civil War rank system order still appropriate until today to undermine the U.S. military character manifested in the Civil War and WW2 or its just an Internet lie.
