A Computer is made from several chips, plastic components, has some wireing, a screen, hard disc and needs to be assembled.
Each of these parts are also produced in factories. The screen, the hard disc and plastic parts are made in factories. Some of these parts are in need of parts from other companies and only these companies use source materials to make the plastic parts of a e.g. a keyboard or the screen. But than, the plastic is made from chemical products and that is coming again from a factory.
So, there is a chance that the Computer in China from ACME (A Company That Makes Everything)
American crops are harvested close to the East Coast and delivered to a storage at the West Coast. The Chicago Exchange sells that to Europe. A ship gets the crops to Rotterdam and from there to a Chemical Plant in Germany. They create chemical products that get delivered to India. The Indian Company makes plastic keys for keyboards from these materials. Those get then delivered to Europe again where they get ink done to then get delivered via Sao Paolo where a huge warehouse is to China to be turned by ACME into a Computer delivered to New York.
