The USA has a vote man system. That means that each community chooses one among them to vote an overall knowing to be distant administration. That only is a functional system having functional communities, but than it is superior to the most common voting contemporary system.
The US system needs reform. The vote communities are frequently redrawn for political gain over representing communites such as Churches or Quarters and are purely geographically based despite modern life in which some are closer to buddies miles off than their neighbour being a normal given fact.
Secret Votes also encourage hiding the true opinion instead of standing up for the own believe. Open Votes as usual before population growth until the early industrialisation demand more and stronger character, but that also creates great leaders. Today we have Homer Simpson speeches and Hollywood actors on horses before the battle.
Democracy does not have to mean that we watch a stage and follow as told. We don't need anyone telling us to watch to the left and right and tell about a wanted face into a phone. We have chat rooms, forums and bloggs to create an educated opinion and make a lot of decisions for ourself. Which is litterly what Republic means...
Somehow there must be a path to end privileges and status, power and title abuse or we all die considering what we have developed in terms of arsenal, but lack in social responsibility.
