As a German he is worst or the greatest of all Primus driven organisation representatives. PAs are common in Anglo-Saxon corporations and standard from a mid management level on.

There is a different system that disappeared. A Primus will take an assistant who serves on a rather high level performing actually not that small tasks all based on mainly time management. In Suits the Assistant quickly turns partner in all aspects of a high profile corporate lawyer in Manhatten. Harvey won't have 4 PAs. He has one perfect Gate Keeper and one perfect Assistant of whom each can work independently right up to decision making for Harvey. Dirk's students won't allow that to happen.
The Anarchist way comes with a totally different lifestyle. On our ships the Crews had a key for profit share. From Captain down to Ship Boy each knew on departure all about the cruise. The route, the load, the deal, the share. Each did his job and relied on each others success to win all together. The Captain did not tell the Sailors how to get up onto the sails and no canonists needed any orders past free fire!
Our ships had no Officers Vs Crew seperation and most certainly no speaking load with a face. Therefore, there was also no Lefttennant, Luitennant or Steward or Major passing on commands.
Yes, our ships were Pirate ships showing the skull flag to each customs and tax collecting Empire representative that ever approached us disrespectfully and our towns like Free Port in Haiti, Hong Kong in China or The City of London in England were our island homes. Seperated like Jewish Ghettos, but also open for Good.
Getting hired was easy. All you had to do was saying honestly Yes if you could do the job offered and keeping up that honesty as base of Good Work.
Sounds strange to Bosses and Chefs. I know. Like being told honestly what's up which is the most respectful thing in my coltoure that can happen to someone, but the most disrespectful for a Primus.
