So, that knight armour thing is hard to understand for most. They also never got out of fashion or became technically overcome. The Kevlar plate and vests combined with elbow pats or Police anti riot gear are the modern versions of it.
The problem was that real Knight armour was for most unwearable. Today many get an ego boost as soon as they have a weapon. Many feel saver by having a pepper spray or knife in their pocket, falling short to understand that a weapon also needs to be used, which needs training.
Now imagine not a scary and intimidating knife, but being in a weapon system that turns you almost invincible against everything below a crossbow straight hit.... and the ego push.
Things nobody tells you, as much as full armour was worn only fighting outnumbered or expecting the worst, not to teach a lesson.
