He is close to a nervous break down using a ferry from France to Mallorca. I do understand that 350 or 450 Euros is a real nice hotel room, but there would be also the 10 Euros journey obviously without transporting a car and the menue costed 15 Euros with Salt and Pepper for a reason on the table.
If he would do the math on fuel cost, hotel room stays, food and car devaluation he'd understand that a one person cabin for over 1000 km is actually dam cheap.
This is not there world. They don't have the right Mind Set for making down here...

PS: Due to the lack of lights, there is a most clear sky view on some parts of the upper decks...beside the sea breath and engines constant perfect steady vibration rhythm.
