Russian bashing. That one embarrassing Air Carrier...
The U.S. has not just Air Carriers. They have several Fleets of which the Air Carrier is the center ship on Oceans in between over 100 bases on forigne soil. Air Carriers are incredibly big surrounded and connected by both cargo and supply ships. They also stride on rather secret routes over the Oceans from larger Navy Base to larger Navy Base with some of their smaller ships and cargo planes breaking off on route to any of the smaller bases.
Air Carrier Fleets are embedded in an extremely complex and sophisticated network of U.S. bases that are more than military power, but also secure 3rd world aid too often.
Russia has had one base outside among foreign nations. In times of war they would use their domestic long range and submarine based rocket arsenal combined with Air Force fleets. Some Russian Jet Bombers have a coffee machine and bed for the Crew of two. They also have plenty of Stratosphere Supersonic Bombers of which some are Tankers.
The Russians would send a Fleet of Supersonic Tankers with Strategic and Tactical Bombers to do the Job being able to stay several days within Airspace and leave having destroyed what to be destroyed.
