This area is perfect. The inhabitants know each other and get to know each other quickly. Slum economy can be a profitable operation based on collaborative work share. In an actually developed region like the Brazilian Coastline and its main towns this means the use of even high tech machinery is a valid option.
In general all productive industries and trades are an option. Most interesting are upcycling and recycling as well as all labour intensive production in need of plenty human labourers on separate steps. These steps are divided into the home work shop spaces and rooms.
Transport is as important as in a modern AI robot controlled factory, warehouse or in an Airports luggage handling system. There are three transports: Raw material coming in, production moves, product departure.
In order to organise that backbone it needs a map broken down to the sizes of the transport ways which dictate arrival and departure spots for lorries as well as which system is used up to routes of railways or self driving cars, but most of the time push and pull wagons, scooters with trailers and pick-up trucks or vans having a direct impact on the work split.
