Dogs are Empaths. They are empathic. That here was no K-9 operator command. Dogs, and that is what they are actually used for, can sense emotions and emotional intend. That means, they fuck for well and often much better than a human, can do understand if someone is aggressive, violent or just freaking out.
The man, so actively and well planned, looks away from the dog, yet passes by ... but with no peaceful intend, in is all acting.
Dogs see the world differently. That's why dogs are so powerful in the Police force.
The dog also just bit the belt... accepting the challenge, because he will tell he was murdered by a combat animal.
