I am sure that those close to him have invested heavily into AI Agents to now find out that they don't work as expected. LLMs are actually logic systems that base their reasoning on text.
In the same way that VAG is about to go out of business by having focused on Luxurious vehicles after the Führer who created their fortune was gone for ever they keep missing meaning like "Volkswagen".
The quite American Shuffle Selling in a Goldrush is very much based on the Klondike River Goldrush that ended in a deadly crime wave rather than describing a solid business strategy.
You cannot seriously call NIVIDIA the one selling Shuffles in context of the AI boom without missing a lot of the picture.
AI is no Gold. Actually, in the AI LLM sphere is no Gold at all. Gold is a simple no brainer business. You take a Shuffle, dig or wash it out, and are rich. There is nothing more to understand than the Gold per Ounce price to do the math.
Compared to that LLM AIs are a whole algorithm of an equation and subject to cutting edge Complex System Theory research in terms of math.
The main business case is internet research at this point. Then, it is educational use.

As soon as the thinkers in the offices start complaining about the LLM missing understanding to give good answers relative to documents and questions, we will face expert systems surfacing. That is still some time to go, because only neuroscience experts at this point can honestly state the online AIs are not well fed with training data.
Eventually, the more by daily internet research and reasoning use the technology is actually understood the more decision making and industry influencing managers will call for AI LLMs trained with specific sets of books, like gambling theory for stock market analysis or research papers in the pharmaceutical industry of which are some confidential on a millions of dollar non compete disclosure level.
