Second phase starts.
They can't sell their expensive shiny objects. ...here... Harley Davidson is a classic prime example of the dark modernity. Originally, designed as a strong engine, durable, simple maintenance, long life motorcycle for public service forces it turned basically a fashion item.
For Police this concept created a reliable tool for most public services such as traffic control. No SWAT Team ever used it, but everyone in regular direct contact with the citizens they are supposed to serve valued that vehicle.
Then this happened:
Please note the shoes and missing safety gear of the owner and do the math how the new customers turned that concept into a high maintenance, all attention, most expensive, ultra shiny object in fucking no time.

PS: He starts with the price tag. He says most believe having bought a Harley four years ago for 20.000 Euros and having added 10.000 Euros in custom parts they get 30.000 minus a few for the kilometers done.
That critique makes sense because custom sales means finding your equal twin that just had no time telling the mechanic his very same liking. Custom parts are upgrades, but only other upgrades keep value up such as Van with a full Electrician Workshop interior, but only for another Electrician Workshop.
The problem is that the seller also cannot get even the original price back.
Actually, he tells us that custom is no art work at all, but a no-matter-at-all in sales. The point is that adding upgrades, even expensive ones, do not create profit. I pointed out in other posts that profitable investments become ever more important throughout society. That also means that the very same Harley still resting in the Garage with an Owner incapable of selling it by just liking it too much, did the very right investment.
Weired, innit??
