That is badly wrong. In most cases an Officer should be able to have some distance and see the situation evolving, even be able to give a warning shot and then use the iron sights for a target man stopping shot.
You do not want to deal with John Wick or the Punisher, especially being SEK. Both might be angry. Just be nice. Don't be an idiot. There is no way you can draw quick enough or get any close to hit any body part before loosing the weapon and feeling extreme pain.
Know your limits and recall your pay grade.
