Of course Marseille is under attack. Marseille was until Le Republique turned La Grand Nation the French gate and main sea castle to its most desire, Le Grand Sued, which is Africa and Arabia. Only in Palermo in a quarter the street names are still or again written in Italian, Hebrew and Arabic, but in Marseille the French Connection lost ground to the Nation and its forces.
Obviously without a highly intoxicated political crew supported by as bad Police no junky gang would stand a chance against locals defending their borrow even using only sticks and stones and bottles. Only if Police goes against the neighbours beating junky dealers into hospitals and the cemetry these gangs can succeed taking and holding turff.
The only way to take these borrows back and give Marseille its very heart and soul back to have French spoken as naturally as Arabic and one day Hebrew again in a main trade centre is to exchange that gang with another ready to take down the support Police as soon showing up.
The south has a long tradition of smoking hemp, of little trade and small shops and helping each other and living a simple life. To become rich, you leave to Paris, to enjoy the sun you stay dans la sued.
When the gang is killed and shortly after the Police is killed too, the residends will on their own maintain their housing estates and start small trade and business again, especially if the nations customs faces bombs by becoming a hurrassement to small imports for local markets.
