Owning and running a newspaper are two very separate things. The Owner may have a cut from the profit, but strictly speaking, not even have the Publisher and Office Boss on speed dial. Check your laws, but the law books in the library.... since the 60ies no one got sued for taking influence onto journalist work in the U.S.A. Before there was Watergate saving the U.S. Republic and nothing less.
